Just because I had to look up how to spell Shemozzle doesn’t mean that August wasn’t a big fat one! I also figured out why Shemozzle has a “SHE” in it.
SHE – mozzle means a confused state of affairs or chaos. The little girl in this picture put the SHE in Shemozzle! Having her home for the summer isn’t an excuse, it’s the reason.
I suspect she’s the reason for a lot of things. Mostly, she is the reason for the exciting mess I call life.
We just got home from our first vacation in four years. It was idyllic and we loved every second of it.
We spent 10 glorious days in Wallace River, Nova Scotia where we walked sand covered beaches, collected rocks and beach glass. The collection of wildlife we saw left both of us in awe. Eagles, commerants, ducklings, hawks, hummingbirds, herons, even foxes and seals.
We visited with family and friends. We canoed, ate fresh food and picked blackberries.
My sister-in-law and I learned how to sex lobsters and have the hilarious tale to tell in a future post. In fact, the entire post will be a family collaboration that we are excited to bring to you very soon. You can read it now by clicking HERE
I wrote about our new look here and am absolutely over the moon happy about it. One of the many things that changed is my subscription service. I owe our new subscribers a free recipe which will be in your inbox this week. Thanks for your patience.
Other big news is that during the month of August I was accepted to be part of The Food Bloggers of Canada. I can’t wait to delve deeper in to this new and exciting opportunity.
There also have been a cross-over of epic proportions! The Princess has become a Yard Ape. I took a job maintaining the gardens on a 10 acre estate and still have to pinch myself because it’s the dreamiest of dream jobs. Dave, The Real Yard Ape is my direct boss. Well, only 10 hours a week. ha,ha.
I also entered a Blogger Competition and I’d love to win. To do that I need votes, from YOU. It’s actually a wine and food pairing. I am not good at selling things, marketing, parenting and a thousand other things. You have no idea! What I am good at, actually GREAT at is pairing wine and food. I want the world to know (ha,ha) I sound confident but I’m scared witless. I almost didn’t send in my submission and I can’t breathe as I sit here writing this but here goes: Would you vote for me? Follow this link to: Cono Sur Blogger Competition Click on the VOTE box and look for my entry about half way down called Duck Egg Tart paired with Viognier. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
