You gotta love a frugal Scottish creative. He’s totally down with re-purposing and now he’s in to multi-purposing.
A year ago, on a thrift store jaunt I picked up a gun box. Yup, that’s right a box that held rifles and the likes. A mild-mannered Sommelier with an empty ammo box – What-the-what?
I know, I know. It was a solid piece, tucked under a table, in a corner of a thrift shop. All for only $5.99.
I stood it on end and used it to store bedding and duvet covers until one day The Yard Ape says, “Can I have this? I’ve got an idea!”
So I emptied it and off it went to the garage/workshop a.k.a The He-Woman’s Haters Club. It came back like this:
Dave added 4 wheels to the bottom. $5 each for a total of $20. He varnished it and added a top.
Along with hinges I gave him for Christmas. I picked them up at an Antique Market for $2. They made for a perfect Christmas stocking stuffer.
It is a great coffee table and a foot stool; like everything else in our little tiny home, a dual/multi-purposed item that fits so well you can’t remember what the decor looked like before.
Repurposed, unique and multifunctional, all for the low, low price of $28 bucks.
Dave keeps pounding out these great re-makes. I’ve got another one to show you…
