Creatively 2017 is ticking all my boxes. Our new feature WINE IN THE GARDEN has been so much fun.
It is still early days so you can hop on the Princess & The Yard Ape creative train and go for a quick tour by clicking on the link(s) below.
Every year I have a ‘BYE’ week. Just like professional athletes, a professional Sommelier has to think about the big picture.
Wine is my career, my driving force, and my raison d’être. I’m no amateur and to keep up with things I have to give my hardest working organ a rest.
Some would say, especially the Yard Ape that it would be my lips. Yep! I’m a talker and a sassy one at that but TODAY, I’m talking about my liver.
My liver check engine light came on as it usually does this time of year.
I’ve been at this for almost 13 years now, and I maintain a vibrant, healthy lifestyle. I drink lemon water every morning, and I love green – plants, chlorophyll, green and matcha tea. Beets are my spirit vegetable. I supplement with milk thistle, selenium, probiotics, and essential fatty acids. I dry brush and use Epsom salts in the bath. My massage is booked for next week. I don’t eat meat, smoke or take recreational drugs ever.
I take things seriously. It requires strategy to make sure my personal ‘Happy Hour’ doesn’t turn into ‘Hefty Hour’ if you get my drift.
Just because I’m not drinking wine this week and probably next doesn’t mean you can’t look at some pretty pictures. You, I mean, we can still have lots of fun. Right?
Best of all, as an apology for changing up the routine, I am spicing things up. Here is what I’m listening to on my ‘BYE’ week.
I’ll Be Your Woman – St. Paul & The Broken Bones
Song For a Friend – Andreya Triana
Mizzy C – City and Colour
Clementine – Lincoln Durham
Burning Rome – St. Paul & The Broken Bones
Hang tight, talk to you soon.
