Welcome to our Holiday Decor & Design feature. We’d like to take you on a holiday house tour and show off our stunning outdoor decor.
The cones on our Blue Japanese White Pine looked stunning against our new siding colour. So we decided to gather decor pieces that echo these colours.
Chocolate brown pieces were easy to tie in with rustic natural elements. We wanted hushed tones that complement nature’s sepia hues. Greenery, chopped wood, and pinecones are the base for the more styled elements like throws and pillows.
Our holiday connection is to create something that allows an escape from the ordinary. Tone on tone magic happened naturally in Fall with rain and dried up flower heads. It gets repeated with frost and snow during Winter.
Metal wine barrel bands were perfect for our two simple wreaths of greenery branches and pinecones. With all the columns and windows on the house, we wanted welcoming without fussiness. We continued the holiday ambiance on the side of the house.
There is a lady who told us she likes to drive by the house every day. It just makes her happy. We were so glad when we let her know that she can start stalking our home for the Holiday season.
The virtual mood board for the Holiday Design & Decor allowed us to pull all these features together for the meager price of $82.00.
Here’s what we bought:
- greenery $30
- poinsettias(2) $8
- frosted berries(2 picks) $15
- pinecone sprigs(4) $5
- plaid $10
- skates $4
- spray paint $10
Here is the list of stuff we used that were FREE or gathered from our home:
- birch branches
- metal wine barrel bands(2) plus one unused
- church pew
We got 3 planters, 2 wreaths and a whole lot of warm and fuzzy curb appeal. Which, at the end of the day matters most to us. We all love coming home and pulling in to the driveway and gazing at our little tiny home. It is a magical place, not just during the holidays but every day of the year.
The outside now matches the inside and beckons us in.
