Today is HOUSEPLANT APPRECIATION DAY. I decided to be a grown up and go with this title rather than the one I wanted to pick: FERNS AND, UMMM…CHAMPAGNE. In perpetuity Houseplant, Appreciation Day will be searched for more than my title, even though I prefer the latter. I plan on being in this blogging gig for the foreseeable future, so I’ve got things like SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to consider, although I’d rather not have to bother.
During a recent ‘Plant Day’ called I’M CHLOROFEELING FINE, I was able to add to my houseplant collection. Wanna see what I bought?
I mentioned that the ferns take up residence in our bedroom, where it’s hot and steamy. More due to humidity these days than marital bliss. Oh, Dave and I are excellent in that department, but the plants are getting more action than we are.
They are rewarding me with the special love and dedication; you can almost hear them groan in delight from satisfaction. Ssh, sssh, I know I shouldn’t kiss and tell, but it’s from pebbles on the bottom of a ceramic tray and a daily mist of hot water with a spray bottle.
Ferns are the highest maintenance takers of all my houseplants, but so worth the effort. I crowned one of them as the top tomato, and the Loftus Lens brought drama and colour pop in all the right way. Check out this slew of pictures before this post turns into a semi-pornographic exposé, neither you nor I want to continue.
What do you think? A favourite? or ferns might not be your thing. Share your thoughts; we look forward to hearing from you.
Oh, and just in case it’s not clear I am passionate about… Plants, and…umm…Champagne.
Happy Houseplant Appreciation Day.
